As
part of our Productive Partnerships Program with Mackay
Libraries, we like to support their initiatives in bringing writers to
workshop with young people of Mackay.
Thirty-seven lucky students from West were part of that group who
travelled to the City Library to hear Josie Montano discuss the writing
process. We have been many
times to the City Library over the years to hear a variety of authors
and we have always come away with some excellent advice. This year was no exception.
Josie explained to our students the importance of planning and
structuring writing pieces. This
advice is equally
valid for fiction and non-fiction and advice which they could use
throughout all of their school years.
