Mackay West State School is located in an
established residential area of Mackay adjacent to fast-growing suburbs
including Planlands which encompasses the expanding Mackay campus of the Central
Queensland University.
The school currently has an enrolment of
approximately 750 students and is staffed by a principal, two deputies, 30 class
teachers, specialist teachers and various ancillary staff who provide quality
learning for children in Prep to Year 7. Many children live in the local
area and utilise the well-established bicycle paths whilst others rely on an
efficient, safe bus service.
Mackay West State School campus provides two
main complexes.
BRIDGE ROAD CAMPUS

tuckshop; covered play area; well established, shady adventure playground;

PINDER STREET CAMPUS
 | Servicing 560 students in Prep and Years 3 - 7. |
 | Features include a combination of single and open area
classrooms; modern SEU facilities; tuckshop; modern sporting facilities
including basketball and tennis courts. |

 | Sun protected activity areas. |
