"From
Bizarre to Brilliant"
This
year in keeping with the Festival's theme, our P-3 children
were invited to participate as brilliantly bizarre bugs. Each year level
chose to depict a part of a bug's life cycle, and our entry contained
everything from eggs to caterpillars to cocoons to brilliant bugs .
It was noisy, colourful, hot, and lots of fun, and everyone was
grateful for the free poppers after all the strutting! Our efforts
were rewarded with a
highly commendable prize of $500 worth of reading books from Angus
and Robertson. Special thanks
must go to the teachers and children who assisted with making the
colourful props and costumes. The school was also assisted by Festival of
Arts Resident Artist and
Dance tutors, Wanda Bennett and Janice Quadrio, who gave the teachers and
students ideas to enhance our parade.
A great day was had by all and the children really enjoyed
‘strutting’ through the streets. Well Done!
